Vectis Quilters was established in 1988 to enable its members to extend their knowledge of quilting among like-minded people. Each year a diverse programme of talks, workshops, visits and get-togethers is arranged.
Visitors are always welcome at this lively, friendly group which usually meets on the evening of the second Thursday of each month at the Parish Centre, Town Lane, Newport, Isle of Wight.
Vectis Quilters has quilters who like to piece, appliqué and quilt all by hand. However many members also use their sewing machines to produce art quilts, contemporary quilts, wall hangings, bags and many other wonderful items. You’ll also find a huge variety of techniques are used by our members – including dyeing their own fabric.
Vectis Quilter’s 120 members are anticipating another busy year ahead, with 11 packed evening meetings planned. We’re looking forward to welcoming seven professional UK speakers to our meetings this year. They’ll be delivering inspirational talks and workshops, which we know will help our members get the best from their quilting. With workshops, sewing days and outings to well loved Quilts shows around the country, the diary is as full and varied as ever!
